As a contributor to LION we make sure your donation goes directly to supporting our mission
- 10 USD will buy a box of elastic bandages enough for 5 to 10 patients
- 15 USD will pay for the treatment of a simple fracture of the knee cap or elbow
- 25 USD will pay for the plates and screws needed to treat a displaced ankle fracture
- 50 USD will pay for the implants needed to treat a hip fracture
- 100 USD will pay for the external or internal fixation device needed to save a leg after an open fracture
- 500 USD can provide the implants needed to treat a poly trauma victim from one of the many motorbike taxi accidents we see
- 1250 USD is enough to give a young person bedridden with pain a new life with a total hip replacement
For LION to reach the full potential of our new facility to treat the injured and train more health workers for the country, we still need to complete phase 2 of the LION hospital. This includes a guardian shelter, a paediatric and female ward, and an Intensive Care Unit. These projects range from USD 500 000 for the guardian shelter to USD 6 million for the paediatric and female ward building that will include a spinal injury unit.
